A Few Works-In-Progress and a Finish!

Not much time to post today but this is the recently finished quilt top for my dear friend who's FINALLY getting married in March!  So excited for her!  She is loving yellow and gray right now.  Do you ever make something and wonder if it will stand the test of time and fashion?  Don't get me wrong, I like the yellow and gray.  I just wonder if someday it will remind me of rust and avocado green from the 70s!
Below is a Final Finish.  I've made six quilts for my friend at school out of her great grandmother's box of quilt squares.  This is by far the largest and most involved but also the most lovely.  I think it's interesting that during the course of making this quilt top, my friend's great grandmother got a sewing machine.  Much of it is hand stitched but then it changes to machine stitched.  I felt like I was working on a piece of the history of the industrial revolution and how it eventually trickled down to the homemaker!  Finally done with the vintage quilt sewing!  Check that huge project off the list!
And this is my Farmer's Wife Sampler quilt at 47 blocks.  I'm almost half way done!  Forgive the yuck photo! I can't seem to find time for photos until it's already dark outside and the absence of natural light doesn't make for the best picture!
